1988
Founding
Heiland electronic GmbH is founded by Wilhelm Heiland in Wetzlar — a city that has been synonymous with precision engineering, optics, and lighting technology for centuries.
1990s
The cornerstone of the brand
The TRD-2, known as the “people’s densitometer,” is a device that makes professional density measurement accessible to everyone – developed, manufactured, and assembled in Wetzlar.
2003
New generation
After Wilhelm Heiland’s death in 2003, Jürgen Heiland took over the company – with the same enthusiasm for technology, precision, and analog imaging.

Continuity
Despite the digital revolution, Heiland focuses on continuity and innovation. With the TAS film processor and the LED cold light source, the company proves that analog precision still has its place in the modern age.

When talking about Heiland, one is referring to Jürgen Heiland – a developer who understood light like no other. Someone who, with precision, passion, and quiet determination, created tools that are trusted worldwide.
On January 1, 2026, Martin Lang and Martin Müller will take over as a new duo to continue this story. Both have known each other for many years from working with light-based systems and share the same commitment to precision and responsibility.
Jürgen Heiland will remain part of the company – as a source of ideas, a mentor, and a link between the past and the future. The handover was deliberately designed with the aim of passing on not only technology, but also quality and knowledge.

Why Heiland electronic GmbH became Heiland Vision Germany GmbH
The company name is new, but the concept remains the same. “Heiland electronic” stood for technology, components, components, and systems. “Heiland Vision” stands for the idea behind it: seeing, understanding, and consciously designing light. Vision describes what we stand for: looking ahead without forgetting our origins.

Today, Heiland Vision is run by Martin Lang, Martin Müller, and Jürgen Heiland — three individuals who combine precision, technology, and responsibility.
